Martha Williams, PE
A licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon, Martha has 18 years of experience mainly focused on the private development of urban sites and specializing in City of Portland work. She has strong expertise in stormwater management, public works permits associated with urban infill projects, and the ability to tie new development into existing facilities. Her experience covers low income, affordable, and market-rate apartments, mixed use facilities, schools, recreational facilities, parks, medical buildings, public safety facilities, storage facilities, hotels, restaurants, wineries, and more.
As a Senior Associate and Senior Project Manager at Humber Design Group, Martha is responsible for daily client and project management, civil engineering design, and management of the HDG team to develop accurate and complete construction documents. She works closely with the architect, design team, owner, various jurisdictions, and contractors for applicable codes, design, value engineering, and permitting. In addition to her engineering work, Martha’s duties include management responsibilities, QA/QC, and the development of company standards. She is a member of the firm’s management team.
Martha received her BSCE from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, where she was captain of the women’s basketball team.

A Senior Associate at HDG, Martha enjoys being part of a team and helping to solve complex problems utilizing various strategies and approaches that meet client needs. She finds that knowing the process well and being able to help clients and team members get to their end goal efficiently and effectively is very satisfying and rewarding. When not at work brainstorming solutions to various engineering challenges, Martha enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter. Her large extended family lives in the Portland area, which keeps her weekends full. She also enjoys camping, hiking, gardening, exploring, running, yoga, and healthy living.
