As the Controller and HR Manager at Humber Design Group (“HDG”), Leigh focuses her work on the firm’s accounting needs including all facets of bookkeeping for tax and management purposes.  She is also responsible for all human resource duties, including keeping HDG in compliance with all state and federal regulations.  Leigh manages firm benefits, answers employee, vendor, and client questions, and takes great pride in maintaining accurate and confidential records.  Leigh also plays a key role in the HDG team by assisting in decision-making processes, helping to keep projects on budget, and serving on the firm’s management team.

Leigh’s 32 years of bookkeeping experience includes 24 years in the construction industry, and prior to that, eight years working for a bookkeeping service.  She is very familiar with the responsibilities of various roles within a firm, having started her own career as a receptionist, office manager, and then controller.  She has worked with HDG team members for more than a decade.

In her role as Controller at HDG, Leigh enjoys the logic and math behind an always balanced puzzle.  She equally enjoys the balance that the human resources side of her job brings, looking away from the numbers and interacting with HDG’s great staff to help them answer questions and resolve issues.  In her personal time, Leigh enjoys spending time with her family and especially her grandson, Nathan.  She also enjoys playing in a competitive pool league with her husband as well as fishing, camping, or any other outdoor activity – except skiing!  She also loves spending time with her sweet Labrador-Chesapeake mix dog, Radar.
