As a Project Designer I at HDG, Jack’s responsibilities include site research, general design, drawing setup and the development of CAD files, general project coordination, drafting reports, preparing permitting forms, and specification editing.  A recent graduate of the University of Portland with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Jack’s experience includes several MECOP (Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program) Internships where his experience included reviewing and editing standards, specifications, and plan sheets, and creating plan sets with grading, demolition, plan and profile, erosion control, and other civil elements.  Jack’s background also includes work on a Senior Capstone Project for the Bureau of Environmental Services analyzing soil and the pollutants in water from the Slough.

Jack is an avid supporter of the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and the San Francisco 49ers.  When he’s not cheering on his favorite teams, he enjoys exploring the myriad of hiking trails throughout Oregon and California, playing baseball and basketball with friends, and winding down to a great book or perhaps a movie on Netflix or Hulu.  When asked why he chose civil engineering as a career, Jack said that he is passionate about civil engineering projects that directly impact communities in a positive way.
