Kristian McCombs, PE
A Senior Associate and Project Engineer/Manager at Humber Design Group, Kristian works closely with HDG team members and clients on a wide variety of civil engineering projects throughout the region. She is involved in projects from proposal through design and construction and is responsible for day-to-day coordination, communication, and collaboration with clients, team members, and local jurisdictions, answering questions, providing design services and calculations, and carrying out project management responsibilities. Kristian is also actively involved in project construction services including site observation and communication with contractors, architects, and other consultants during the construction phase.
Kristian’s 10 years of experience includes extensive hands-on knowledge and experience in City of Portland public works permitting, as well as experience with numerous projects on the Oregon coast as well as in Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard, LaGrande, Gresham, Washington County, Yamhill County, Milwaukie, Lake Oswego, and Newberg. She is especially skilled in site grading and stormwater design and adept at providing civil engineering for a wide range of projects, including those projects built on undeveloped land as well as renovations to existing building sites. Her experience covers a range of project types, from multi, single, market rate, and affordable housing to commercial buildings, hospitality facilities, schools, animal shelters, and wineries.
Kristian received her BSCE from the University of Portland and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon.

Kristian enjoys working in a team environment and values the relationships formed within a design team. She also appreciates that each project is its own unique puzzle and loves seeing the pieces come together through the design process. In her personal time, Kristian enjoys playing with her Golden Retriever, kayaking, rock climbing, skiing, and taking in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She is a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur and loves checking out Portland’s food scene.
